Since it first opened its doors in 1851, the Mont Cervin Palace has welcomed guests from all over the world to the legendary Swiss Alpine town of Zermatt, at the base of the Matterhorn. Today, it holds the distinction of being Zermatt’s largest hotel, located in the very heart of the village, with the most expansive wellness area in town.
It is also the flagship of Seiler Hotels, a group of distinctive hotels in Zermatt that also includes the Hotel Monte Rosa, the Hotel Schweizerhof, and the Partner Hotel Riffelalp Resort 2222 m.
There are 150 elegantly furnished accommodations, 63 of which have recently received a complete facelift. There has also been a full renovation of the public spaces including the reception, lobby, salons, gardens and terrace.
The neighboring Le Petit Cervin provides an intimate hotel-within-the-hotel experience. Among its luxurious accommodations are two dream-like two-bedroom Royal Suites that can be connected into one expansive four-room suite. Most rooms offer balconies, and many boast spectacular views of the famous Matterhorn.
Guests of the Mont Cervin Palace enjoy access to a 1,700-square-meter pool and wellness area that includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a variety of saunas and steam baths and a beauty spa with 11 treatment rooms. Within, guests can indulge in a full array of relaxing and pampering services, from facial and body treatments to classic massage.
Just outdoors, Zermatt beckons with a host of recreational pleasures, from excellent downhill skiing (including Switzerland’s longest ski run) to tennis, ice skating, mountain biking, paragliding and more. The annual Zermatt Festival draws classical music enthusiasts to the Swiss Alps each September, and wine tastings are another popular attraction.
At the end of the day, guests can return to the Mont Cervin Palace for exceptional dining at the restaurant dining room, the Grill Le Cervin, the Ristorante Capri or the hotel patio. And, thanks to the Dine Around program, they can also choose from 11 other fine restaurants at Seiler Hotels throughout Zermatt.
Zermatt is an automobile-free resort town. The Mont Cervin Palace offers shuttle service from its own parking area in the village of Tasch, 5 km away. The hotel is also just a five-minute walk from the railway station.
Dining
Le Restaurant Dining Room: In the morning, the dining room serves a sumptuous breakfast buffet; in the evening, gourmet a la carte dining and weekly buffets. Menus are complemented by a large wine selection and traditional service. Jacket and tie are required for gala dinners on Thursday during the winter season.
Ristorante Capri: 17 points GaultMillau and 1 Michelin star. The restaurant, located on level 4 of the “Le Petit Cervin”, pairs Mediterranean culinary excellence with stunning views. Open in winter only.
Grill Le Cervin: This informal French restaurant serves charcoal-grilled meats and fish tastefully prepared with market-fresh produce and complemented by an expansive wine list. Open for lunch and dinner.
Terrace: In good weather, this small sun terrace is open for a light lunch or snack, afternoon coffee and pastry, and early evening cocktails.
Carnotzet: A magnificent room and ambience for memorable private events of up to 30 people. Located at Le Petit Cervin. Only open in winter.
Joseph’s Bar: Where people meet for a drink to whet their appetites, to relax, enjoy an after-dinner drink and perhaps even dance. Pleasing piano entertainment adds to the lively ambience.
Capri Bar: This popular bar, located on the fourth floor of Le Petit Cervin, serves exquisite drinks and tasty snacks beside a warming fire. Open in winter only.
The Seiler Hotels Dine Around Program: The half-board option offer guests the opportunity to dine in a choice of 11 restaurants at Seiler Hotels throughout Zermat: Mont Cervin Palace, Hotel Monte Rosa, Hotel Schweizerhof and the Partner Hotel Riffelalp Resort 2222 m, as well as at the Restaurant Seilerhaus and Myoko. Guests enjoy a wide choice of Swiss, French, Italian, Japanese and International cuisine.
Meetings and Events
The Mont Cervin Palace is Zermatt’s only hotel to offer modern function facilities for up to 300. The Alexander Seiler Saal provides an elegant setting for conferences, seminars, banquets, weddings, and parties of all types. With plenty of natural lighting, it seats up to 320 (banquet) and divides into several rooms of varying sizes. Standard audiovisual equipment is available, along with wireless-LAN. Simultaneous translation equipment can be rented.
Residences 1 and 2 are ideal for intimate gatherings of up to 62, while the pool area, foyer and gardens are ideal for receptions, coffee breakfast and exhibitions.
Sports and Leisure
Pool Complex: The Mont Cervin Palace’s expansive, 1,700-square-meter swimming area includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a separate children’s pool, whirlpools, sauna and steam baths, sauna for ladies only, solariums and a fitness room.
MCP Beauty Spa: This pampering spa offers a full array of massage and beauty treatments for women and men. The Sensai by Kanebo and The Organic Pharmacy (TOP) products are made of top quality ingredients.
Ski Services: The hotel offers in-house ski service for ski and boot rentals and ski repairs (winter only).
