Perched high in the Engadine, in the Swiss ski resort of Pontresina, The Grand Hotel Kronenhof provides world-class hospitality in a magnificent neo-Baroque setting surrounded by pine and larch forests. Opened as an alpine guest house in 1848 and transformed into a grand hotel at the turn of the 20th century, the legendary hotel, with 112 expansive rooms and suites, is one of the most architecturally significant in the Swiss Alps. A recent restoration has returned the Kronenhof to its original beauty.

Guests of the Kronenhof enjoy a multitude of warm and winter-weather recreation, from downhill skiing to sailing the Engadine lakes. Guests of the Kronenhof also enjoy complimentary green fees at the 9-hole executive course of the Kronenhof’s sister hotel – the Kulm Hotel, St. Moritz. Indoors, further delights await, including an array of tempting spa treatments and water features at the luxurious Kronenhof Spa.

Guests can spend a quiet hour reading the day’s news in the charming Blue Room, with its elaborate stucco work in soft pastels, or settle by the fire in the cozy Fireplace Lounge, or bowl a few frames in the hotel’s private bowling alley before joining friends for a traditional Swiss fondue.

Dining is a special treat, with choices ranging from the charmingly rustic Kronenstübli, awarded 16 points by GaultMillau, to the majestic Grand Restaurant with its buffets and fascinating ceiling paintings.

At the end of the day, guests retire to magnificently decorated guest rooms and suites, outfitted with every modern comfort. Plenty of windows allow sunlight to stream into these spacious and charming rooms in the daytime, and those facing south boast spectacular views of the Roseg glacier.

Dining
