The Hotel Schoenegg pampers guests throughout their stay. Its legendary restaurant boasts 13 Gault et Millau points and showcases produce and herbs harvested from its own gardens, as well as black truffles found in the region by the hotel’s own truffle dog.
Among the newest additions at the Hotel Schoenegg is the expansive Jungfrau Suite on the top floor, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a full kitchen, and separate living room. Other distinctive features include a wine cellar with tables for private dining, a sauna accommodating six, a cozy library ideal for a quiet read, and a spacious lounge with a welcoming fireplace.
To reach the Hotel Schoenegg, guests travel to nearby Lauterbrunnen, where they park and board a train for a 15-minute ride to car-limited Wengen. The hotel is located in the town’s center, a five-minute walk from the train station and two minutes from the Mannlichen cable car, which whisks guests to world-class skiing, hiking and a wealth of other activities in just six minutes.
Schoenegg Restaurant: Rated 13 Gault et Millau points, the hotel’s charming restaurant showcases the exceptional cuisine of Chef Hubert Mayer in an elegantly rustic setting. Swiss regional cuisine is complemented by a wine list of Swiss and European wines, both modern and classic. Guests on half board enjoy a four-course menu with choice of dessert, cheese or fruit.
Breakfast: The Hotel Schoenegg’s traditional Swiss breakfast buffet provides guests with plenty of delicious fortification for a day in the great outdoors. It includes fresh baked pastries, homemade jams, muesli, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, fruits and more.

Wine Cellar: Hotel Schoenegg recently introduced a new wine cellar for a memorable and intimate private dining experience. Guests can select their wine bottle straight from the shelf.
Summer Terrace: Open in the warmer months, the hotel’s new terrace offers a lovely spot for al fresco lunch and dinner with an exceptional view of the Jungfrau mountain.
Vegetable and Herbs Garden: This new addition to the hotel debuted in spring 2014 and provides homegrown vegetables and herbs for the restaurant kitchen. In addition, the hotel has its own truffle-hunting dog trained to locate black truffles in the surrounding countryside.

Sauna: The hotel’s new sauna provides post-ski and post-hike relaxation for up to six guests.
Library and Lounge Room: Guests can relax with family and friends over a board game or enjoy a quiet read in a choice of two inviting spaces: the cozy library and spacious, fireplace-warmed lounge.
Winter activities: Wengen is ideally located for access to a wide array of winter sports in the magnificent Bernese Oberland. Guests will find 213 kilometers of slopes for skiing and snowboarding on fresh powder, as well as trails for sledging, winter hiking and snowshoeing. Other winter activities include ice skating and curling.
Summer activities: Warm weather pursuits make the most of Wengen’s idyllic mountain setting. Active travelers can enjoy everything from tennis and hiking to mountain biking and rock climbing.
