Rising magnificently over the South African landscape, the Palace of the Lost City is the flagship hotel of the world-famous resort destination Sun City. Verdant jungle-inspired gardens with streams and waterfalls lead to the hotel’s spectacular entrance hall, with its soaring painted ceilings and mosaic artworks, while beyond lie 335 exquisitely decorated guest rooms and suites.
Guests will find a wide variety of cuisines and cultures represented in the hotel’s dining venues. These range from the formal Plume, serving French cuisine with an African accent, to the classic New York-style Grill Room, to high tea in the Crystal Court. Massive elephant tusk arches evoke Colonial-era grandeur at the Tusk Bar & Lounge, a safari-inspired watering hole, while The Palace Pool Deck is an inviting setting for a light bite between dips in the Olympic-size pool and lounging under the African sun.
Palace guests can avail themselves of all the attractions of Sun City, from the high-rolling pleasures of the Sun City Casino to championship golf on a Gary Player-designed course. For family fun, there are the world-class Valley of Waves water park and Maze of the Lost City. Elephant-back safaris and hot-air balloon rides over the neighboring Pilanesberg Game Reserve are a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the Palace’s own Royal Salon offers a wide array of massage and beauty treatments to help guests unwind after a day of adventure.
